NICHOLAS MARTIN PORTRAITS
Since being Artist in Residence at the Royal Pavilion Brighton in 1983, I have concentrated on art which involves portraying people and nature. I enjoy innovative approaches to keep the work fresh.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I work on the Isle of Wight and have lived here since moving from Sussex in 2006. I work to commission, mainly on portraiture but enjoy having exhibitions of new work , the most recent about wildlife. The next will be still lives. I run life drawing classes at the local Art Centre, Quay Arts and opened a foundation course for mature students on the island. I work mainly in oils but enjoy drawing and monoprints and working together with computers. I also work with Ceramist Marion Brandis in Sussex and have done many commissions with her which are on going.
